As you can see, there are several types of trauma that we provide support for.
Trauma Focused Inpatient Treatment Programs
We do not recommend any particular inpatient program, but provide this as a resource list only. When contacting an inpatient unit, ask questions that would be helpful to you and your treatment. It may be beneficial to make the call together with your therapist to inquire about the program. **Links open into new windows.
Del Amo Trauma Recovery/Military Trauma Program
MacLean Hospital Dissociative Disorders and Trauma Program
River Oaks Hospital Trauma Based Disorders (The New Orleans Institute)
Sheppard Pratt Trauma Disorders Program
The Center Posttraumatic Disorders Program
The Meadows (treats Trauma, PTSD. Addictions and other issues)
Related Trauma Issues
There are many related issues to trauma as well. Some individuals turn to negative coping skills to dull the pain they are experiencing, while some of these issues are a result of the trauma experienced. Having these diagnoses or issues do not mean someone has experienced a trauma.
While this is not a comprehensive list, it gives you an idea of some of the issues that are impacted by abuse and sexual assault.
